Over the years, numerous bromances have developed across professional sports and it has become quite a popular thing to have a "bro" who has your back wherever you go. The following list contains five of the top bromances in sports.
5. Tony Romo and Jason Witten; NFL; Dallas Cowboys
These two have such a good bromance that when former wide receiver Terrell Owens was on the team, he accused the two of "devising secret plays for each other" during practice. Either that, or Owens was just ticked off he didn't get the invite to go with "the bromance" and Jessica Simpson to Mexico a couple years back. Regardless, these two have the chemistry on and off the field that gets them the number five spot.
4. Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan; Golf and NBA
Can you think of another pair of athletes who have dominated their selective games for as long as both Woods and Jordan did? Although they both share a level of competiveness that is unmatched, they have a great friendship that is actually really cool the more you think about it. Tiger neither confirms nor denies that his bromance with Michael extends beyond the golf course.
3. Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer; College Football; Florida Gators
How can this list, being in a Colorado paper sports section, go without mentioning Tim Tebow? This time it's not about what Tebow did for the Broncos this year, but his bromance with former Florida football coach Urban Meyer. Ever since Tebow burst onto the scene as a Gator, Meyer was right next to him, helping him and guiding him to a couple national championships and a Heisman trophy. The age difference may be a little creepy, but Meyer and Tebow have each other's backs and that is what a bromance is all about.
2. Dwayne Wade and LeBron James; NBA; Miami Heat
Their bromance reached a new level when the two paired up a couple years ago down in South Beach. Rumor had it, whenever James was in Miami or Wade was in Cleveland, they would stay at each other's houses instead of going to the team hotel. If that doesn't sound the alarm, the two always seem to end up hugging each other after each Heat win. These two have a solid bromance going, much to the dismay of the rest of the NBA.
1. Karl Malone and John Stockton; NBA; Utah Jazz
Of course! How could these two NBA legends not be at the top? Their pick-and-roll offense on the court and "got your back" mentality off the court defines this duo as the best bromance of all time. Their stellar play together put the Jazz on the map and delivered numerous division titles to Salt Lake City. I guess we now know why Karl "the mailman" Malone didn't deliver on Sunday.
