The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs mourns the passing away of graduate student Kevin Smoliak, which ocurred two weeks ago on Sept. 3.

"On behalf of the campus community, I offer our deepest condolences to Kevin's family, friends and classmates," Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak said in a statement issued last Wednesday.

Smoliak, son of Gerry and Gloria Smoliak and a Rampart High School graduate, earned his undergraduate degree in psychology and was on his way to completing a counseling degree, according to a university press release.
